We bought another pumpkin, because we also wanted to make some pumpkin soup (they are only 0,95 a piece, so the price is not going to stop us) and we decided that this is our next project:
After all, you have to keep developing your skills :)
EDIT: I didn't think we could do it, BUT WE MANAGED!!! LOOK!! My boyfriend drew the castle on the pumpkin, and then we took turns on carving it out, I am so proud of the result!
and our 2 pumpkins next to eachother:
They are so cute (if I may say so myself) :)
I RECEIVED MY GRADE, AN 8 OUT OF 10, I AM SO HAPPY!
My thesis is finished! I survived. I am so happy. I'm still feeling a bit empty and weird, because I have been working on it for quite a while. But it feels so great that I finished it.
Now I have to start worrying about finding a job, and a house for my boyfriend and me, but things will be fine.
To all the Dutch-people on my friends list, if you have the time please try to watch "De Sprookjesboom" (The Fairytale tree). Nederland 3 airs this show everyday at 7:10 am. It is repeated daily at 11.55 am and 14.30 pm. IT IS SO CUTE! It is a computer animated series, based on some key characters from fairytales and the designs are based on the Efteling designs. (It is made by Efteling, so go figure).
Linkies: Sprookjesboom official tv-site, here you can watch the episodes you missed. It only started this monday, so luckily we didn't miss much ;) I strongly advice everyone to at least take a look because it really is very nicely done, especially for a dutch production.
Secondly, a very interesting presumably official Efteling site: Nieuwsrijk. Which also has a testride-movie from the new "Flying Dutchman ride", it rules.
Yesterday I bought a beautiful book with the fairytales from the brothers Grimm. Illustrated by the wonderful Anton Pieck. It must have been destiny because I have been searching for this book for a long time, and this was the first time in weeks that I stepped inside the second-hand bookshop I often shop for my books and suddenly it occurred to me that I should check the fairytale department cause you never know, and there it was! Today I went back to take another look at a wonderful book called "De tuin der goden" (The Garden of the Gods) a book with mythological tales from Scandinavia, the Celtic countries, Asia etc. written by A. G. van Hamel (does that name ring any bells? ;) ) also with illustrations by Anton Pieck, in full colour. I am very happy right now.

This is the fairytale tree, this tree tells the story.

Red Ridinghood, Tom Thumb and the witch :)
Little Red Ridinghood was stolen from the Efteling this morning! I really hope they will find her soon. In 1998 she was also stolen, but found again a day later. I will be going to Efteling with my parents next week, and I think they would like to see Red Ridinghood... They will, at least, miss her when she's not there... Why do people do this?

EDIT 05/10: She is back! This morning the police found her in an old people's home near the Efteling. Presumably a group of student's stole her to get free tickets for a large group of students. I hope these people will get some kind of punishment. I really hated the way the news reacted, they all acted like it didn't really matter, but this is considered theft... it should not be taken lightly just because it is a fairytale character stolen from a themepark. But I digress.
